Psalm 104 is a beautiful hymn of praise that celebrates God’s creation and His sovereignty over the natural world. Part of that is the seasons He gifts us with. This verse is teaching us to trust in His timing. Psalm 104:19 says, "He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows it's time for setting."
Just like the sun and the moon have their own times so will we have times of prosperity and times of need. Whatever the season we can lean on God to walk us through it, give us the strength and the grace we need to endure it.
This verse beautifully illustrates God’s sovereignty over creation, highlighting how He designed the celestial bodies to regulate time and seasons. It’s a reminder of the order and purpose inherent in God’s creation. God does everything for a purpose, and He does everything perfectly.
When we go through seasons of hardship, we have to trust that God is allowing the difficulty for a reason. That reason could be to shape our character, build our faith, serve a part of His greater plan or be a future testimony.
Jehovah Jireh, our provider, to give us exactly what we need. He gives us Himself and if we have that we have all we need.
Jehovah Jireh, we praise your sovereignty, and we trust in your timing. Just as the sun knows it's time for setting, we know your seasons have a purpose. Thank you that you never leave or forsake us. Because of that we have all we could ever need. Amen.
